SEN Teacher provides cost-free teaching & learning resources for students with special needs and learning disabilities.
All the resources available or listed here are free for use in schools, colleges and at home.
- The Printables Page has a selection of printable worksheets, handouts and teaching aids most of which can be customised to suit a range of learners.
- The Links Page lists websites which have been carefully selected for the quality of their information or because they provide further excellent sources of cost-free learning resources and software.
- The Files Page lists free educational software from many sources which has proved useful to teachers and parents of special needs students.
- Search Tools are custom Google search engines which make it easier to locate free resources and information from several different SEN related areas.
Site News
March 2008:
The Photo Card Maker has been updated and is hopefully more useful now. Yahoo is employed instead of Flickr to locate images and more useful content seems to be located as a result. Thanks to everyone who mailed to report issues with the Flickr based version.
February 2008:
The first update of the new year includes a couple of fixes and better printing on the certificate maker. A new worksheet generator has been added which makes photo cards using Flickr searches. Hopefully it will be a useful resource for matching games and other activities including picture exchange. Results are not always immediate, but usually a few clicks pulls up a useful image for most searches.
October 2007:
SEN Teacher has moved to a new web server, there may be some connection difficulties over the weekend of October 6th. Apologies for any inconvenience, but it may take 24 to 48 hours for the address changes to reach some ISPs.
July 2007:
A new Cracker Jack Puzzle Maker has been added to the printables page. Additional reference sites have been added to the Search Tools Page, the autism section in particular is now much improved. Some minor bug fixes have been made to the Classroom Label Maker.
April 2007:
The Search Tools Page has been updated and now includes automated searches of online news and video sharing websites in addition to the custom engines which search a more select group of themed expert websites. A Label Maker in a similar vein to the popular Certificate Maker has been added for the speedy creation of classroom notices and book covers. A worksheet generator which randomly creates Anagrams from wordlists is now available in the English printables section. At the request of several visitors, digital and 24hr clock questions have been included on Draw & Make Clocks.
March 2007:
Some new additions have be made to the Downloads Page and more sites have been added to the Search Tools index. Some new print resources for alphabet work have also been added. The problem with the cylinder net has been fixed and several other minor ammendments have been made. All sheets are now larger on the page and many now include extra examples to make their function clearer. Printing issues with certificates where some laser printers missed off the base of the page have been fixed.
